‘This is the room. Please grasp the key, for its loss would be a misfortune.’

Along the way, Tea did not dare to utter any sound. The scene around her absolutely overturned her imagination of royal architecture: the circular staircase wrapped in red-gold carpet suddenly broke at one step, showing its true colors - greyish stone steps, wooden handrails mottled by peeling paint.

Tea, with guitar saddled on back, was beckoned by the young blond man at upper stairs. Her anxious mind raced - she did nothing but agreed to Arthur's invitation for targeted training this afternoon. She swallowed a mouthful, pondered over the events of the past month - none of which could have possibly offended him, let alone justify her confinement in this isolated tower!

As it turns out, Tea was overthinking.

While Tea cautiously pushed open the door, her heart raced with eager anticipation. However, to her astonishment and immense relief, instead of being engulfed by a cloud of dust, she was greeted by a breathtaking sight that left her breathless. The room before her surpassed all expectations and defied any preconceived notions. An exquisite grand piano came into her view, its back was adorned with luxurious red velvet, while the London June rain and sea-scented fog danced gracefully in front of the towering windows. Strangely, candles were burning within the empty room, a sense of serenity prevailed as their warm glow.

‘Dear Tea, you just seat here.’ Arthur brought a chair and moved the piano stool out. ‘Thank you!’ Tea, with trace-looking on her face, did not seem to have come out of the contrast between the true feature of this small room and her imagination. Arthur appeared to be cognizant of this fact and had intentionally refrained from disturbing her during her mind-flying state. He deftly removed the piano cover and adroitly installed the supporting foot.

‘Ah! I should have had helped you –’ With a sudden shock, Tea removed the guitar in a hurry. Perhaps due to her overwhelming nervousness, or perhaps because her consciousness had just regained control of the body and was still in the transitional phase, her piano case collided with the piano, producing a resounding thud that reverberated within the instrument. ‘Pardon me!’

‘My dear Flying Mint Bunny! Please be careful!’ Arthur's facial muscles tightened. He folded his arms as if to turn his back on the matter, while his eyes resting quietly on Tea’s brow, which was bubbled with sweat.

Tea unzipped the instrument case and carefully took out her ebony guitar, which she had carefully maintained for years – the result of one thousand round of ideological struggle before she set out: after considering the fitness with the piano and her own preferences, she closed the zipper of the original wood guitar case for the last turn and put it firmly into the cabinet. Arthur sat down at the piano and gently lifted the lid, his slender fingers hovering above standard A.

‘Are you ready? We'll start with bar 16.’

Tea nodded, unconsciously sweeping the guitar strings. Arthur, facing the total score, finding the main melody. His hovering hand waiting for Tea to turn to the corresponding position of the music, slowly fall.

Mistake took place at the third bar of solo! The music stopped abruptly.

Tea’s countenance flushed crimson, while Arthur’s emerald-like orbs held no hint of jest: ‘You cannot play your way back into practice; I shall not be your predator! The initial two bars are mine to give, but the shot is yours to take!’

This time, Arthur gave the speed slower than Tea’s imagination, she was just able to steadily keep up with Arthur's piano sound, as usual in their own practice, which provided her a great courage. She stared at the score, meticulously play the corresponding notes.

Tea knows clearly that Arthur would not looking at her. But amazingly, Arthur seems to be able to sense in advance the places she's not familiar with – music went on, but it was given a ritardando; went through this part, the accelerando appeared on time. During the error part, the two were also tacit understanding to pause, started again from the wrong section.

The song was over, and Tea was relieved.

‘Can I borrow your pen?’ Arthur asked, and tea replied in the affirmative – curious! Is that what you need to ask!

‘Here, there, those, and these, are some big problems. Go through it again.’

Well... Cherish your word so much. Tea exclaimed, while also surprised by Arthur's caring. She recalled the teachers she had met when she practiced the guitar: either pointing at problems did not exist, or talking about problems while hesitating, wasting her physical strength to play a song.

‘Do you need to have some tea first?’ With no forecast, Arthur asked.

Now, Tea was completely stunned and speechless.

‘Give me your answer please! Or I’ll drink it myself!’ His emerald-green eyes narrowed, as if he were upset that Tea had once again wandered into her own little world of thoughts without replying to him in time.

‘Well yes! Thank you!’

Arthur took a steaming teapot from the cabinet behind him, then carried two lovely little china cups from the rack. ‘This is yours, hold on! Don’t pilled on your hands – uhm, on the piano!’

It turned out to be her favorite Jin Jun Mei tea! The fine tea brewed a brilliant red color, and the rising steam delivered a soft nectar rush to her olfactory system; The light of the candle struck the tea and formed a golden ring with the side of the cup.

A matching china plate also appeared in the hand of Tea, out of her attention, ‘Strange, where hides the spoon, my dear Frannie......’

‘Who is the Frannie you have just mentioned?’

Arthur's rummaging around the cupboard stopped: he hesitated, lips moved, was about to speak but then stopped.

‘Is it one of your elf friends you talked about?’

Tea’s heart was on the verge of leaping out of her mouth – she couldn't fathom where she had summoned the courage to ask such question! During the interlude while awaiting Arthur's response, she had already envisioned all manner of mortifying outcomes – if only she could turn back time and bring nine cows to halt her audacious conjecture!

"Why, that’s not your duty to concern! It was Arthur’s turn to blush, but his summer-forest like eyes gleamed.

Bingo! The high dam of the Tea’s heart sloped down all the tension and restlessness. The mind reservoir was filled with fresh water named easy and exciting. She clenched the china dish in her hand with excitement and took the spoon from Arthur, who looked cutely indifferent!

Tea placed the china plate flat on her lap, with one hand supporting the plate and cup, the other hand stirring the tea, which had been carefully strained to be free of impurities. In the room only the soft sips remained, and the fine Jin Jun Mei tea in the cup exuded its magic, in this humid and sultry June, a little bit to soothe the two troubled minds. Doubts rose slowly like smoke in the quiet world of Tea’s thoughts, and she looked at Arthur. ‘Arthur... Well, Mr. Kirkland, why did you choose this little room to help me practice?’

‘Dear! Don’t show too much curiosity about everything!’ Arthur turned his head, but Tea caught the smiling face he was trying to hide. ‘... This was my favorite room to play the piano in when I was a kid, and all my elf friends would come here to keep me company – flaming hair and pointy ears. And! Beautiful unicorns! Soft hair... To my points, their existence lives beyond world admit. Anyway... Anyway, when I come here to practice, I feel that I will be more musical inspiration.’

There really EXISTS such cute creatures! The reason why this seemingly empty room is so well organized! Tea was moved by Arthur’s happy mood, because his elf friends DID play important role in Arthur’s growing up period.

‘Mr. Kirkland, your elf friends DOES live in an world where other people couldn’t detect!’ Tea expressed her heartfelt thought, ‘Thank you, a lot, for telling me this and... and for bringing me here to practice!’

Arthur's face, which had been taut, slowly loosened like ripples on the water. Rarely, he didn’t tend to hide his released and unperturbed face. ‘It’s all right –’ His tone was unexpectedly calm while Tea noticed that he was losing his grip on the china dish.

Suddenly, a blush rose to his cheek, and as if aware of something, he jerked his head away.

‘No, no, no! Be aware! Don’t make a mistake, it’s not about you... Just for me!’
